Meet Our New President Matthew Negron

A deep understanding of what customers need has led to a recurring theme of success during tenure at Dauphin.

There’s a good chance you have already met Dauphin’s new President Matthew Negron. His involvement in IIDA, CoreNet, IFMA and countless industry and charity events has made him a fixture in the industry.

Matthew started with Dauphin eight years ago. His love of furniture combined with a Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from NJIT, quickly made him a valuable team member.

Eventually moving from the design/engineering department, Matthew found success in sales. His knowledge of products and intuitive understanding of customer needs led to tremendous growth in his New Jersey sales territory. He soon became a Regional Business manager, hiring and training additional sales reps to cover the growing business.

Even while building his sales territory, Matthew was involved in the behind-the-scenes management of Dauphin. As Design Project manager, he oversaw UL and BIFMA certifications and the implementation of the CET Designer extension and ProjectMatrix . On the sales side he was instrumental in building a new CRM System and in creating sales tools, company presentations and industry CEUs.

I welcome this great opportunity and am excited to support the outstanding Dauphin team, our clients, and industry partners throughout the Americas and the world.

While he has worn many hats at Dauphin, it is important to note that he did all that while teaching part-time at NJIT and while extremely involved in the design community. He has participated in many events in New Jersey, New York and in the Chicago area. He is committed to volunteer service and has contributed time to industry and charity fundraisers. He started the IIDA PA/NJ/DE Chapter Coffee Talks, a virtual discussion series for interior designers and IIDA industry partners. He helped organize and hosted the IIDA PA/NJ/DE “Fashion Meets Finish” in 2019 and will be back at it for the event in 2021.

Matthew’s teaching experience prepared him for the product training of new Dauphin employees and independent reps, a job he also inherited from Gary Chin. “I feel tremendous gratitude to be mentored by Gary who is a true class act and one of the greatest individuals in the contract industry. No specific words can capture how helpful his guidance and advice has been throughout the past few years, along with his many lessons that are not taught in school”.

“Gary’s guidance and dedication to Dauphin and everyone around him are to be valued and admired. There is no doubt Gary is a true leader and pushed Dauphin forward year after year and has provided sound leadership, which has been an inspiration to me,” he added.

Matthew has a lot in common with Gary, both started with the company at a young age and immediately became invaluable, both were appointed President at the age of 30 and both feel they owe some of their success to CEO Nick Bayvel. “This accomplishment early in my career could not have happened without Nick. He provided an open platform to voice my ideas, the opportunity to wear multiple hats, and the ability to implement impactful changes to the company. Nick provides honest, blunt feedback in an extremely positive manner. He challenges everyone on the Dauphin team and helps build our knowledge base on daily basis.”

Matthew is grateful to both mentors. “Gary and Nick have taught me how important it is to never stop learning and to always take the time to truly listen. It is rare to have two mentors with 80 years of combined experience to draw from, I know how lucky I am.”

In his new position, Matthew will not take anything for granted, “I welcome this great opportunity and am excited to support the outstanding Dauphin team, our clients, and industry partners throughout the Americas and the world.”
